Things To Do
U.S. Space and Rocket Center
The U.S. space program began in Huntsville and what better place to host the worlds largest space museum than the “Rocket City”. Home to Saturn V, missiles, rockets, simulators, and other space memorabilia there is something to see for everyone. Any future astronauts out there? Don’t forget to check out Space Camp.
Huntsville Botanical Garden
Open year round, it is home to a variety of gardens including an aquatic garden and is even home to a butterfly house. In addition, they are host to many family friendly and adult events. Grab your picnic basket before your visit and enjoy lunch in the garden.
Originally known as The Bat Cave, Cathedral Caverns was renamed due to its likeness to a cathedral. Take a tour (wheelchair accessible) and view stalagmites, a large stone waterfall, and other natural wonders. Feeling lucky? Try your hand at mining for gems. Be sure to bring a tent because the park also offers primitive camping.
MidCity Huntsville upon completion will be a mixed use project. It will feature fun and unique dining options such as: Wahlburgers, Rascal Flatts, Dave & Busters, and Pies & Pints to name a few. If you are feeling a little adventurous then High Point Climbing and Fitness, or the 38 acre public park with kayaking and bike trails, or Top Golf (now open) might be your thing. While you are there you may want to take in a live performance at the 8,500 capacity outdoor amphitheater.
Stovehouse, built in the 1920’s, when renovated will showcase unique eateries such as Mazzara’s Italian Kitchen, The Pourhouse (a laid back bar), Oh Crepe featuring Japanese inspired flavors, and Kamodo Ramen to name a few. Don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee at the coffee bar and enjoy some live entertainment at the outdoor stage.
This 563 acre upon completion will be a modern outdoor community. Play Ball! Town Madison is proud to welcome the Rocket City Trash Pandas (Double-A Southern League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels beginning with the 2020 season). Any Parrot Heads out there? You will be happy to hear a Margaritaville hotel with waterpark will be built near the baseball stadium. What an amazaing way to enjoy a weekend. If you don’t want to drive here then you might want to take a look at the homes, condominiums, and apartments that are scheduled to be built. There will also be plenty of dining and shopping options to choose from.
